Summary:
The Kayano is the workhorse of Asics stability line. With a superb amount of cushioning and a generous dose of stability this shoe has carried many people through their marathon training. The extra Gel throughout the shoe also makes the Kayano an excellent choice for heavier runners or anyone who feels they could use something a little extra between their feet and the ground. The asymmetrical lacing system creates a more natural fit and reduces tension between the feet and the upper.

The Kayano always features the newest technologies from Asics and this version is no exception. The biggest update is the addition of the Guidance Line in the forefoot of the Kayano 16. The guidance line is a vertical flex groove that runs down the middle of the forefoot which acts as a decoupler to distribute impact forces more evenly and provide a more efficient gait. Independent shoelace eyelets and the improved asymmetrical lacing system will greatly enhance the fit and reduce irritation from the upper. The Kayano 16 also includes a couple of gender specific features that are new this year. First is the Plus3 which refers to a 3mm height increase in the heel of the women's shoe to help relieve pressure on the achilles tendon. Also the Soft Top DuoMax in the medial post and Gender Specific Space Trusstic System ensure the stability will work better with a woman's foot.
