Womens Brooks Defyance 3

The new Defyance 3 takes its
rightful place in the neutral spotlight. Sure, it's got the
famous fit, feel and balance of the Adrenaline™ GTS, but
this isn't just a spinoff. The Defyance 3 is a star in its
own rights, featuring a Medial DRB® Accel for a smooth ride
with just a touch of support. Bravo |

Summary:
The
Defyance features the award winning fit and feel of the
Brooks Adrenaline minus the medial post making this an
excellent choice for runners with neutral feet. The BioMoGo
midsole coupled with rearfoot and forefoot Hydroflow
technology make for an extremely effective and
environmentally efficient means of cushioning the foot.
Changes:
The
new Defyance 3 is over a half an ounce lighter than the
previous model. The fit and feel is almost exactly the same
with only slight modifications. The crash area in the heel
is slightly narrower in the Defyance 3 which changes the
heel-to-toe transition slightly. The impact forces seem to
be absorbed a little more in the previous model whereas the
new Defyance directs these forces through the toe-off a
little better. The Defyance 3 also fits slightly snugger in
the arch than the Defyance 2. |
|
Our most inherently stable
neutral shoe is back for more in the Defyance 3. Those who
already love the Defyance will recognize the same secure
midfoot wrap and generous forefoot that have made the
previous versions a success.
Improved:
1. Overlays:
Strappier overlays conform more easily to the movement of a
neutral foot while maintaining a secure arch wrap
2. Crash Pad: A separated crash pad on the outside
heel of the midsole provides a gentler initial lay down.
3. Sockliner: The upgraded Engage sockliner is
softer and offers a better energy return.
Who should wear the Defyance 3:
Defyance 3 runners have a
neutral gait cycle and a medium to high arch. Although they
don’t need pronation support, they do like a more structured
shoe to reinforce their neutral stride. Because the Defyance
3 provides a great base for orthotics and comes in both
narrow and wide widths, it’s really a "go to" shoe for the
neutral set.

HYDROFLOW – Dynamic
viscous fluid units for heel & forefoot enhance midsole
cushioning—attenuating shock with industry leading dampening
and comfort. |
|
 |
BIOMOGO – We’ve
taken the long-lasting cushioning of our MoGo midsole and
made it environmentally friendly. How, you ask? By adding a
non-toxic, natural additive to the MoGo compound that
encourages anaerobic microbes to munch away once it hits the
landfill. |
|
 |
DRB ACCEL
– Enhances tunable
torsion of the midfoot. Shank-like thermoplastic
devices vary from single units of a set modulus,
to dual-unit versions of varied modulus (tuned
with higher stiffness for medial support, the
lateral side less stiff to smooth the ride). |
|
 |
HPR PLUS
– A higher durability,
abrasion-resistant rubber outsole compound that
wears longer. |
|
 |
ENGINEERED STABLE
POD CONFIGURATION
–Midsole and outsole components are engineered
to set the foot up in an efficient, balanced
position from heel strike to toe-off,
offering maximum stability and responsiveness. |

ELEMENT–Upper
technology featuring superior microfiber
construction to provide weather protection in a
light, supple, quiet fabric that doesn’t sacrifice
breathability, durability, or comfort. |
