Miles run in the Saucony Kinvara 8: 50+
When stepping into the shoe, the tongue and heel counter are noticeably soft and provide a comfortable fit. Saucony's FlexFilm upper provides a seamless, flexible feel, allowing the shoe to move with your foot. The Kinvara 8's upper has a clean, simple look to it.
This shoe does not require a break in period. I was able to take it for a run right away and it felt great. The upper gives your foot a comfortable, flexible fit and the mesh is very breathable. The major update to the Kinvara 8 is the addition of a full-length EVERUN topsole. This definitely gave the shoe a softer ride compared to recent versions but also added a little weight to the shoe. The added softness does not hinder the responsive feel of the shoe.
I was able to do a variety of runs with this shoe. It was light and responsive enough to do fast tempo runs and there is enough cushion to do shorter training runs in. I would even feel comfortable running longer races in them like a half marathon or marathon.
The only thing I would be skeptical about when it comes to the Kinvara 8 is the durability of it. Most shoes have a lifespan of 300-500 miles, but since the Kinvara is known for its bouncy and lightweight properties, I would think this shoe might break down a little quicker. I'm curious to see how it holds up the more miles I put on them.
The Kinvara 8 is a shoe that will provide a fast, lightweight ride. This is a great shoe to use in your rotation for shorter, faster runs. It's also a great race day shoe for longer distances like a half marathon or marathon.
